We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Aboriginal Community Liaison to join our growing Diversity and belonging team, based at our Support Office in East Bentleigh.
Reporting to the Diversity and Belonging Manager, this dynamic national role has a strong focus on building secure, sustainable relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia, with the purpose to learn from, work with, support and acknowledge their rights on the land we work.
You will play a crucial role in the creation of business wide cultural protocols and educational training programs including an annual training calendar, focused on awareness and immersion practices, and be a go to for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural queries.
As the Aboriginal Community Liaison, you will assist in setting up and managing the Officeworks Employment Pathways Program to attract, retain and develop Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders across the business network. This will include supporting the recruitment team to help create an employer brand that appeals to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants and partnering with mentors and agencies to recruit and train potential candidates.
In addition, this role will be involved in the facilitation of the initial RAP for Officeworks including creating key deliverables and ensuring their success within the designated timeframe and set budget.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. You will pride yourself on your ability to foster meaningful and effective relationships with key stakeholders and be comfortable engaging with a broad network, across all levels of the business and the greater Aboriginal community. Preferably, you will have previous experience in creating a RAP and be comfortable in the end to end development of training programs.
As this is a national role, the successful candidate might be required to travel. As this role is an identified Aboriginal position, only persons of such nationality may be considered.
